Mount Allison University is one of seven teams playing in the very competitive Atlantic University league. In 2010-11 the Mounties will play 24 league games, will participate in an eight-team exhibition tournament in Moncton, and possibly play one or two more exhibition games.

The Mounties normally practice four times a week, usually in the 5:30 - 7:00 pm time slot. The large majority of games are played on weekends, so very little class time is lost for games or practices. The team plays out of Sackville's Tantramar Regional Veterans' Civic Centre. The rink is adjacent to campus and the Mounties have their own team room in the centre.

The Mounties travel by charter to their road games. Meal money and accommodations are provided to team members when on the road. Helmets, gloves, and pants are provided to team members, and they also receive a moderate stick allowance. Skate sharpening is provided. There is no fee attached to playing hockey at Mount Allison.

Mountie Hockey takes great pride in the academic accomplishments of those on the team. Guidance is provided in course selection and academic success is monitored throughout the year. Each year we have had a number of team members achieve Academic All-Canadian standing.
