Coaching Staff - Mount Allison Swimming Mounties

John Peters has been coaching swimming for the last twenty years, twelve of those with the Mount Allison Mounties and the Sackville Swim Club. Prior to leading the Mounties he spent four years with the Saint John Swim Club.
John is a graduate of Mount Allison University, having earned a BA in History. In addition John graduated from Holland College, Merchant Marine Department, Third Officer rating - Master Inland Trade.
He developed his passion for swimming during his five years of competition with the Saint John Swim Club. John extended his amateur career, spending four years with Acadia University, where he was named swimming MVP twice.
John's swimmers have qualified in fifteen consecutive CIS national and junior championships. His Mountie and Sackville Swim Club swimmers have been placed on the last five Canada Games Teams. Prior to his successes at Mount Allison his teams won three New Brunswick Provincial Championships with the Saint John Club. He has also coached the Sackville Swim Club to one provincial championship.
Although small in numbers, the Mount Allison swimmers are fierce competitors. They have won twelve individual AUS titles and received All-Star status numerous times.
