Coach's Word- Mount Allison Swimming Mounties
On behalf of the captains and other team members, I want to thank you for your interest in the Mount Allison Swim Team. Mount Allison is recognized as one of the top universities in the country, offering students the opportunity to excel in both academics and athletics. The Mount Allison varsity swim team is a tightly-knit group of athletes who continue in a strong tradition of academic and athletic achievement.
Beginning with the first practice, you will be given the opportunity to set and achieve goals, both inside and outside the pool. Many Mount Allison swimmers have achieved success at regional and national levels. With two Atlantic Championships since 1986 and over thirty CIS (formerly CIAU) qualifiers in fifteen years the small but mighty MTA swim team has proven itself to be one of the strongest teams in Atlantic Canada.
Mount Allison University will offer you a great opportunity to develop your swimming skills even further. For nineteen consecutive years Mount Allison was rated by Maclean's Magazine as the top two undergraduate university in Canada. MTA has been ranked No. 1 a record of 15 times and has never placed lower than second. The University has placed first for the past five years in a row. Our academic record speaks for itself.
