Success “A Mountie Tradition"
Mount Allison University has seen tremendous success in the CIS
over the last 30 years. Throughout that time Mountie football has compiled
championship caliber teams and produced some of the top players in CIS
history. Mount Allison has played for the Vanier Cup twice (1984/1991)
and won four AUS conference championships. Mount Allison has also had
15 All-Canadian selections which includes the CIS Defensive Player of
the Year (Twice: ’84 Larry Oglesby, ’90 Randy Power) and the
Hec Crighton Trophy winner awarded to the nations top player (Twice: Eric
Lapointe '96 & '98).
New Brunswick's Football Team As New Brunswick’s only university with a football team, it is our goal to build a fence around the Maritimes in recruiting. Mount Allison’s best seasons on the grid iron have come when we have retained the top players from the Maritime area. It is important that the heart and soul of Mountie football comes from New Brunswick and then we supplement that with top players from around the country. Our recruiting efforts also extend across all of Canada as we get the best student-athletes from all over the country. Our team is annually represented by almost every province and top players from across Canada have been calling Sackville home for decades.
Academics at Mount Allison
Our academics consistently rank us in the top three universities in the country. Our small class sizes and personal touch make our professors more accessible and more effective in educating our students. Mount Allison University prepares you for life after football and gives you the tools to be successful in any field you chose.
Vision
We have a set vision for every incoming player into our program. That vision is that on graduation day, our players are holding a diploma in one hand and have a championship football ring on the other. That vision shows our players have had success in the classroom and have also had success on the field. It reveals to employers that they have the tools necessary to work with others effectively in achieving a common goal and they have the ambition and ability to lead.
Come join the tradition of Mount Allison University and be a part of our vision for the future.
